"The rumors about the BlackBerry Slider won’t go away, so we’re starting to wonder if this is going beyond the BlackBerry Magnum we saw a few weeks back. Maybe, just maybe, the first BlackBeryr slider is the real deal. Of course, if the latest rumors about the device are true, Research In Motion is seeing some heavy resistance in the software end of things, as there seems to be a high failure rate. As the story goes, the Slider is taking two guises: the 9900 for GSM networks, and 9930 for the CDMA variants destined to hit store shelves. Furthermore, Sprint is currently being touted as the carrier of choice for the moment, at least for the CDMA versions. However, the problem is coming in waves for the Slider, as early testing has the device at a failure rate of 80%. Apparently, the only other BlackBerry device that had these kinds of problems was the BlackBerry Pearl Flip. There’s a small shed of hope in there though, considering the Flip did indeed get released. The sad truth is that the 9900, GSM model is meant for other areas of the world. That’s right. If the 9930 does in fact come out, it’s looking like Sprint would be the exclusive carrier here in the States, at least for awhile. We’re hoping that the BlackBerry slider does come out, as it would be a great step in the right direction for the Canadian-based company. Not that Research In Motion has any real issues, but we’d love to see some genuine ingenuity in the form factor department. We’ve got our fingers crossed." via slashphone.com

"If Blackberry had never surprised you with its hardware design, it looks like they are trying to do something different than its usual BlackBerry style smartphone. Leak images of BlackBerry in slider form factor are posted on bbleaks, it is also a full touch screen phone to allow you using it without the hardware keyboard. Other than the touch screen + slider design, it is said to comes with optical touch pad, BlackBerry OS 6.0, 360 x 480 display resolution and built in WiFi." More photos here:

In 2009, Nokia's annual mobile phone sales to end users reached 441 million units, a 2.2 per cent drop in market share from 2008. Although Nokia outperformed industry expectations in sales and revenue in the fourth quarter of 2009, its declining smartphone ASP showed that it continues to face challenges from other smartphone vendors. "Nokia will face a tough first half of 2010 as improvement to Symbian and new products based on the Meego platform will not reach the market well before the second half of 2010," said Ms Milanesi. "Its very strong mid-tier portfolio will help it hold market share, but its ongoing weakness at the high end of the portfolio will hurt its share of market value." Read more inside..

Beware our fellow readers; pdasnews.com has got for you the first exclusive review of Trigna from CrazySoft folks. Let’s start from the beginning: What the heck ‘Trigna’ means? The developers say this comes from the Greek word ‘Trigona’ (yes… without the ‘o’) which in the first place means ‘triangles’. I can verify that this is the case in this game, it’s all about triangles. Click here to read the full review.
Our verdict:
Congratulations to the CrazySoft team for a fantastic original game. I can’t be mistaken because I am stuck on my phone since I started playing and I can’t help it! I believe we have something great here guys; maybe a ‘trigna’ mania is rising…

"Trigna is the latest trend in puzzle gaming. CrazySoft team is back, with a completely new, addicting and clever mind game. The Tile 'Trigna' derives from the Greek word 'Trigona' which means 'triangles', and this is what the game is about: making triangles...
• Gameplay
The objective of the game is to make triangles. Make triangles by clicking three marks of the same color. You only have some seconds until each round is over. Check the time meter. Try to make as many different triangles as possible in each round. Try all possible combinations you can think of. But remember: You cannot use marks of different colors and you cannot make the same triangle twice. Also don't choose marks that are in a straight line." Check this GREAT game here:
"The announced but not yet released WebKit-based BlackBerry web browser was shown off via video demo twice today at Mobile World Congress. Mike Lazaridis, RIM's Co-Founder and Co-CEO, gave it a minute of glory during the morning's general session, while an hour later it was Mike Kirkup, RIM's Director of Developer Relations, who gave a quick walk through of what's in store for the browser at the BlackBerry Developer Day at App Planet to those in attendanceThings are definitely looking promising here for us BlackBerry users, even when taking note of the fact the demo provided today was a recorded video vs. a live demo and you can see the browser was connected to WiFi vs. 3G. Getting data down to the BlackBerry fast has never been an issue for the BlackBerry web browser, rather it's the rendering of the page once that data is on the device. It seems the Torch Mobile folks that joined RIM were able to hit the ground running and the BlackBerry is rendering Javascript and pages A LOT faster than any other previous BlackBerry web browser. I'm not sure if RIM has any devices on hand at MWC with the WebKit browser installed but I'll do my best to get a minute of hands-on time with one if they do. No word on roll out yet, but the sooner the better, that's for sure. Wouldn't it be nice if the rollout came along with an OS update that featured some significant UI updates? BlackBerry Heaven, that's what I'd call that." via crackberry.com

"Talk about procrastination. My final Nokia review for the Smartphone Round Robin should have been up last Friday, but here it is a week late. Everytime I sat down to start writing it, I always managed to find a distraction compelling enough to pull me away. This one is definitely tough for me to write. For every other platform I've looked at over the past 6+ weeks that the Round Robin has been on, it has never been difficult for me to find something to say; in fact, I have had the problem of always having too much to say (apologies for some of those lonnnng articles). But writing is easy when you have strong opinions and I definitely had my viewpoints on the Droid, iPhone, Palm's WebOS and even Windows Phones - both for specific devices looked at and the platforms and where they fit into the Smartphone Hierarchy of Needs and the greater smartphone market." "You’ve got to love whenever an update is made available to your handset – whether it’s a minor or major one; just the comfort of doing from home is convenient for you. Actually, an update for the Samsung Moment for Sprint is ready for installation – but it’s going to require more than you clicking on a couple of windows on your computer to get it. Sprint has just announced a “maintenance update” for the Moment – although it doesn’t bring it up to the level of the Nexus One, it does provide some much needed tweaks to improve the handset. Unfortunately, you’ll have to take a stroll to your local Sprint stores in order to get the update. Sure it’ll require you to do some traveling, but the update will improve battery life, provide new updates to several third-party apps, and other fixes. If traveling isn’t your kind of thing, you may be waiting an unspecified amount of time before it’ll be available from home. Sprint says “The ability to download the update directly on your Moment will be available in the near future.” via phonearena.com
